Frequently Asked Questions for Warehouse Racking Buyers
Clear, direct answers regarding structural engineering, shipping logistics to US and Canadian ports, seismic permits, GMA pallet compatibility, and factory direct customization.
What specific CE and ISO certifications apply to your warehouse racks?
Our warehouse pallet racking systems are certified under European CE Marking (Certificate No. 2435-CPR-8605159) conforming to the Construction Products Regulation (CPR 305/2011/EU) and EN 15512:2020 (steel static storage systems - adjustable pallet racking systems - principles for structural design). Furthermore, our quality control management system operates under ISO 9001:2015 certification (Registration No. 18624Q00169R0M). Test reports and raw steel mill certificates are provided for every export shipment.
Do you support seismic calculations and municipal permit reviews for North America?
Yes. For projects in the United States and Canada, our engineering department provides comprehensive CAD floor plans, elevation profiles, load capacity charts, and complete structural calculations in imperial measurements (lbs, feet, inches). Our documentation conforms to ANSI MH16.1 (RMI standard) and IBC codes, making it seamless for your licensed local Engineer of Record (PE / SE) to review, seal, and submit for municipal building department permits.
How do you pack and ship racking components for ocean freight?
Uprights are nested and bundled with heavy-duty polyester strapping and corner protectors. Box beams are bundled face-to-face with protective corrugated spacers between painted surfaces to prevent scuffing. Small hardware (safety locking pins, shims, wedge anchors, footplates) is secured in labeled export cartons on pallets. Every shipment is planned using container-optimization software to maximize 40ft HQ container cubic utilization and prevent in-transit shifting to Long Beach, Houston, Savannah, New York, or Vancouver.
Are your selective and drive-in racks compatible with standard GMA pallets?
Yes. Our systems are engineered around the standard North American 48" x 40" Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) wood pallet, standard plastic pallets, and Euro pallets (1200 x 800 mm). For standard selective racking holding 48" deep pallets, we supply standard 42" deep upright frames to provide a safe 3-inch overhang front and back. Clear beam widths (typically 96", 108", or 144") allow standard 3" to 4" side clearances between pallets and upright columns according to OSHA and fire regulations.
What is the deflection limit for your pallet rack beams under full load?
In accordance with EN 15512 and RMI standards, all our load-rated pallet rack beams are engineered for a maximum allowable deflection of L/200 (length of beam divided by 200) under uniformly distributed static load (UDL). For example, a standard 96-inch (2438 mm) beam loaded to rated capacity will not deflect downward more than 0.48 inches (12.2 mm). Beams return to plumb horizontal position once loads are removed, maintaining elastic recovery.
Can you manufacture custom dimensions and match existing warehouse racking colors?
Yes. As a factory direct manufacturer, we offer full OEM and ODM custom engineering. We can roll-form uprights to specified heights (up to 40 ft in single sections or spliced for taller installations), adjust beam connector claw geometry (teardrop, diamond, or metric hook), and match any standard RAL powder coating color (e.g., Safety Orange beams RAL 2004, Dark Blue uprights RAL 5005, Vista Green, Signal White, or Slate Gray).
What coating specifications protect racks in cold storage and high humidity?
For ambient warehouses, our 80–120μm electrostatic epoxy-polyester powder coat provides outstanding abrasion and scratch resistance. For sub-zero freezers (-25°C), we apply specialized low-temperature flexible powders that resist impact micro-cracking. For outdoor yard racking or highly corrosive chemical storage, we offer hot-dip galvanizing (HDG conforming to ISO 1461) where steel components are submerged in molten zinc for lifetime rust immunity.
How fast can your engineering department provide CAD layout drawings and quotations?
When you supply your warehouse architectural floor plans, ceiling clear heights, obstacle locations (sprinkler drops, structural columns, lighting, dock doors), pallet dimensions, and forklift lift/aisle specifications, our engineering team typically produces a complete 2D CAD layout, 3D visualization rendering, and an itemized quotation within 24 business hours.
What accessories do you supply to ensure OSHA and fire safety compliance?
We supply a full spectrum of protective accessories including heavy structural column guards, wrap-around post protectors, heavy-duty row end frame barriers, wire mesh backstops to prevent pallet push-through into pedestrian aisles, welded wire mesh decking with flared or step channels, pallet support cross-bars for weak pallets, and NFPA-compliant longitudinal and transverse flue space maintainers.
What is the typical production and delivery lead time for export orders?
Our standard manufacturing production lead time is 15 to 25 days following engineering shop-drawing sign-off and deposit receipt. Ocean transit time from our nearby Guangzhou or Shenzhen ports to North American West Coast ports (Los Angeles/Long Beach) is typically 14 to 18 days; to East Coast ports (Savannah, NY/NJ) it is 28 to 35 days. We accommodate FOB, CIF, CFR, and DDU/DDP terms.
